February Videos

Here are some random videos from February.

I believe that Blaine is saying, “Dance Party!” in this one, not sure.

Sarah’s solo dance party:

More dancing!  I believe that the Beach Boys song “Wouldn’t it be Nice” was playing at the time.  Blaine is saying “Hop on Pop” and trying to get me to let him jump on me (it was Dr. Seuss week at preschool).

… and a few extra photos from February that I didn’t put in the last post.  Blaine and me at Manor Park in Larchmont:

I let Blaine talk me into buying a pool noodle at Target one day, and here are some pics of the kids playing with it at home.

February Roundup

I’m feeling lazy so I’ve decided to glom a bunch of photos from February together into this one post!  Here’s Blaine getting ready for Valentine’s Day.

Breakfast out at Stanz cafe in Larchmont.

Blaine and Sarah are excellent at peeling garlic cloves.

Reading together while I cooked the rest of the meal.

We went to Wynnewood for the weekend to visit Mom-Mom and Aunt Molly.  Sarah decided she did not want to read our usual bedtime stories and instead picked a new one off the shelf – The Two Towers (Lord of the Rings trilogy).

Humpty 2 was not doing so well by 2/16.

On 2/18, we took a trip to the Hommocks Ice Rink so that Blaine and Sarah could see how people ice skate.  Blaine was fascinated.  They both enjoyed climbing on the bleachers.

On 2/19, we checked out the Flint Park nature walk, and the kids had a great time on this boardwalk.  I appreciated the fact that they could run around without getting into much trouble.  And we got to enjoy the water and the sound of the reeds, and saw a bunch of geese and other birds.

On 2/20, we took a family trip to Tarrytown to see the Hudson River walk and the Tappan Zee bridge under construction.  We had lunch in Sleepy Hollow before heading home.

Snow Day

We got another few inches of snow on Friday, 2/5, and the Mamaroneck schools were closed, so Blaine had the day off from preschool, as well.  We decided to make some cookies.

It turned out to be a beautiful sunny day after the brief snow, so we also went outside and built Humpty #2.

Humpty 2 had marbles for eyes, a twig for a nose, and rocks for a mouth.  He fared much better than the original Humpty because the weather took a turn the next day and got much colder for a week or two.

In the afternoon we indulged in some more delicious drinking chocolate, and we even shared some with Sarah.  She was hooked!

Here’s another shot from 2/6 of Blaine napping on Daddy’s lap, quite possibly the first time he’s ever made the transfer inside from a car nap.

Bronx Zoo

We took our first trip to the Bronx Zoo on 2/2.  Many of the animals were not on display due to the cold, but we still had fun.  One highlight was the mouse house, but it was quite dark inside and the pictures don’t show much.  Here’s one of the kids looking at the lions.

We also had fun in the gorilla area (though sadly we did not find the actual gorillas).

IMG_20160202_130751

We did get to see this cool monitor lizard.

IMG_20160202_131425 IMG_20160202_131442

And some smaller monkeys.

It was a quick trip, but we hope to get back soon when the weather’s a bit warmer.
